Envelope Simulation by SPICE-Compatible Models of Linear Electric Circuits Driven by Modulated Signals

چکیده
SPICE-compatible equivalent circuits were developed to facilitate the analysis and envelope simulation of electric circuits driven by modulated signals. The circuits are based on a novel complex phasor-domain transformation. The proposed method facilitates simulation of any general linear circuit driven by a modulated signal such as amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, or phase modulation. Simulation time by the proposed envelope simulation is much faster than the full cycle-by-cycle simulation of the original circuit and excitation.

متن کاملA Unified SPICE Compatible Model for Large and Small Signal Envelope Simulation of Linear Circuits Excited by Modulated Signals
The envelope simulation method, developed earlier for large signal simulation (time domain, TRAN), is extended to include small signal envelope simulation (AC) and DC Sweep simulation (steady state for a range of carrier frequencies). The model is derived for AM, FM and PM modulation schemes and is demonstrated on a piezoelectric transformer circuit. The analytical derivations of the model were...
متن کاملSpice Compatible Model for Multiple Coupled Nonuniform Transmission Lines Application in Transient Analysis of VLSI Circuits
An SPICE compatible model for multiple coupled nonuniform lossless transmission lines (TL's) is presented. The method of the modeling is based on the steplines approximation of the nonuniform TLs and quasi-TEM assumptions. Using steplines approximation the system of coupled nonuniform TLs is subdivided into arbitrary large number of coupled uniform lines (steplines) with different characteristi...
متن کاملA Mixed-Mode Simulation Technique for the Analysis of RF Circuits Driven By Modulated Signals
This paper describes a new simulation technique of nonlinear RF circuits driven by modulated signals. Based on a true mixed-mode algorithm, it allows time-domain transient analysis of the envelope, while handling the carrier behavior in frequency-domain. Being similar in scope to the previously reported Envelope Transient Harmonic Balance [1]-[3], it is not limited, though, in excitation bandwi...
متن کاملBehavioral Modeling and Simulation of Semiconductor Devices and Circuits Using VHDL-AMS
During the past few years, a lot of work has been done on behavioral models and simulation tools. But a need for modeling strategy still remains. The VHDL-AMS language supports the description of analog electronic circuits using Ordinary Differential Algebraic Equations (ODAEs), in addition to its support for describing discrete-event systems. For VHDL-AMS to be useful to the analog design ...
